About Us

Christ Temple Church was originally founded in the late 1930's by Bishop Theodore Simmons and incorporated in 1945.  Later pastored by Bishop Harley Weir, the church continued to grow and see many blessings from the Lord.  Bishop Harley Weir pastored the church for about 15 years until feeling led of the Lord to minister in other areas.  Some short time following, Bro. Merrill Weir felt the Lord leading him to return to take Pastorate, in 1974.  Pastor Weir has been our leader since that time.  During his pastorate we have built our new sanctuary and office wing.

We worshiped here through 1993 when we began construction on our new facility.  We built our new sanctuary, and with much anticipation prepared to move from where we were, to where we are today.  We are very thankful for what the Lord has given us, and thank Him regularly for His blessings.  We are at our original location, which allows us to use our old building for Fellowship Hall/Childrens Chapel and Sunday School classes.

We have much to be thankful for, and hope that you will come and visit us in one or many of our services.  We have learned over the years that the most important thing about a person is what they believe about God; and God has TRULY been good to us.  We have miracles, signs, and wonders to tell about that the Lord has done in and throughout our church family.  Christ Temple has touched the lives and families of many people in Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley.
